Adobe software for students

Tags Adobe

Some Santa Monica College on-campus computer centers (in drop-in labs or common areas) have Adobe software installed on their computers. For example, any student may use Photoshop in the Library during Library operating hours.

The specific Adobe products available may vary at different times.

Some SMC computer centers with Adobe software only allow use of their computers by students enrolled in specific classes. This applies in the Photography Department, Art Department, Center for Media and Design, and the online Virtual Computer Lab. Instructors should tell students if the class is eligible to use a supporting computer center.

Santa Monica College does not issue an Adobe software license to any student.

Classes that require the use of Adobe software usually have a supporting on-campus computer center or Virtual Computer Lab available to all students officially enrolled in the class. Instructors wishing to obtain access for their students should contact the chairperson of the instructor's department for instructions because it may be necessary to request additional funding (a lengthy process).

Many SMC students obtain personally-licensed Adobe software from organizations that offer student discounts:

Santa Monica College does not sell, service, or provide either technical support or subscription information for personally-licensed Adobe software.

If you have questions about an Adobe subscription that you have paid for, please contact the organization that you purchased it from.

The Adobe Help Center, operated by the company that produces Adobe software products, provides free online learning materials to everyone. There are also links on that site to Adobe's customer support and technical support for those who have paid for an Adobe software product license.
